Directions to UMass
Sometimes, due to college events, holidays, or construction, normal access routes to the Amherst-area can become
congested. To help you avoid sitting in traffic, we've provided the following sets of alternate directions from various
areas of the state:
From The East
1 Take exit 8 off the Mass Pike (I-90). Turn right at the end of ramp onto Route 32.
2 Follow Route 32 to intersection. Turn right onto Route 20.
3 Follow Route 20 West to Route 181 North.
4 In Belchertown, keep straight onto Route 202.
5 Bear left onto Route 9.
6 Take Route 9 to Amherst. Follow signs to UMass and other area colleges.

From The East
1 From Route 2 West, bear right onto Route 202 at exit 16.
2 Follow Route 202 to Pelham. Turn right onto Amherst Road.
3 Follow road into Amherst, through intersection, onto Main St.
4 Main St. leads to Amherst Center. Follow signs to Area colleges.

Directions From The North
1 Take exit 25 off I-91. Turn left at the end of ramp.
2 Follow road to intersection. Turn right onto Routes 5/10 South.
3 After 1 mile, turn left onto Route 116 South
4 Follow Route 116 for 8 miles to the UMass exit.

Directions From The South
1 Take exit 16 off I-91. Turn onto Route 202 North.
2 Bear right onto Route 116 North.
3 Follow Route 116 through South Hadley to Amherst.

1 Take exit 4 off I-90(Mass Pike) onto I-91 North.
2 Take exit 16 off I-91. Turn onto Route 202 North.
3 Bear right onto Route 116 North.
4 Follow Route 116 through South Hadley to Amherst.
